Everyone Loves a Parade: Fair Fun Kicks of In Saline Tuesday Evening

The Saline Community Fair fun starts Tuesday when the annual Fair Parade marches through town.

The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. at Henne Field on Bennett Street, between Harris and Ann Arbor streets, in Saline.

Before the parade the Fair hosts two events at Henne Field

The Boys and Girls Pet Show and the Best Decorated Bicycle Contest are open to youth up to 16 years old. Registration is at 4:30 p.m. with entries closing at 5 p.m. and judging beginning at 5:15 p.m.

In the pet show, all animals must be on a leash or in a cage. Awards will be presented for best looking dog, best costume, best tricks, cutest puppies, best looking cats, cutest kittens and more.

For the bicycle competition, awards will be presented for best decorated bicycle, tricycle, wagon or cart and more.

After judging, participants will walk or ride in the parade.  See all rules and categories in the fairbook on page 62. Everyone will receive a ribbon and there are Best of Show awards also. During the parade the fairboard members will also be giving away some fair passes.  

The fair kicks into gear Wednesday with tractor pulls, livestock judging, and the Miss Saline Pageant at 8 p.m.
