Allegra Print Mail Marketing is celebrating its 45th year of business from its beginnings in Ann Arbor to today’s award-winning, full-service marketing and print communication company in Saline, serving hundreds of businesses and organizations.
The business, owned by Pat and Therese Mahoney, Joey DiMauro and Kelly Parkinson and located at 1283 Industrial Drive, has evolved from a quick printing company promoting five-cent, black-and-white, do-it-yourself copies to a 26,000 square foot facility built in 1997 with the latest in print, signs, mailing services, fulfillment, promotional products and graphic design. The owners note that the business – now with over 25 staff members – bears little resemblance to what it was when they opened their first location in Ann Arbor called Kwikie Duplicating.
“It’s amazing how the computer has impacted our business,” said Joe DiMauro, operations partner of Allegra Print Mail Marketing in Saline. “Quick printing was cutting-edge technology in 1973, and it wasn’t until the 1980s that fax machines and personal computers were introduced to the marketplace. Most jobs received at Allegra today are now handled digitally.”
They changed from Kwikie to Speedy Printing in 1978, American Speedy Printing in 1984, Allegra Print & Imaging in 1995 and Allegra Print Mail Marketing in 2012.
“Today Allegra is in the forefront of technology,” said Kelly Parkinson, client services partner of Allegra Print Mail Marketing in Saline. “We have invested in the latest technology to provide our clients with a customized solution for their marketing communication needs.”
Allegra continues to research and offer new services to benefit customers. “By offering more enhanced capabilities, we believe Allegra can provide exceptional service, faster turnaround and a better overall product to meet the demands of today’s businesses,” said Parkinson.
