Seniors can get free tax assistance by appointment on Monday afternoons at the Saline Area Senior Center.
The AARP is providing free tax assistance at the Saline Area Senior Center. The service will be provided on Monday afternoons, beginning at 1 p.m..
Residents are asked to call ahead to make appointments. The services is offered until April 15.
Call 429-9274 to make an appointment. On Feb. 18, AARP volunteers will offer the service without appointment.
The Saline Area Senior Center is located behind Saline Middle School at 7190 N. Maple Road.
The AARP tax assistance is done by trained volunteers in partnership with the IRS, and is geared to seniors age 60 and up. The volunteers are able to do 1040 forms, and amended returns. The returns will be sent electronically, and you will receive a paper copy to take home. They are unable to do returns with trust funds, business or farm income with the exception of Schedule CEZ. You will need to bring:
Photo ID, Social security card and S.S. cards for all
dependents or ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification)
Birthdates for all dependents
Dependent care provider information (name, employer, ID, and Social Security number)
Daycare provider tax identification & total amount paid for daycare
