Carla Scruggs, Director of Saline Parks and Recreation, was honored with the Fellowship Award by the Michigan Recreation and Park Association at its conference and trade show at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa Thursday.
According to the MRPA, the Fellowship Award is presented to a member who consistently demonstrates significant investment, support and guidance to fellow professionals. Honorees exemplify the highest level of professionalism in all aspects of our profession, in his or her own organization and within the membership. They must also be an MRPA member in good standing for at least 20 years.
Scruggs, who grew up in the Ann Arbor area, has worked for the City of Saline since 1991. According to the city's website, she earned an undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation and a Master’s degree in Recreation Administration both from Central Michigan University. She worked for Hazel Park and Novi before coming to Saline.
