Washtenaw County Sheriff Investigates 2 Home Invasions in Lodi Township

 01/11/2016 - 13:53

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office reported two home invasions in Lodi Township.

At 5 p.m., Jan. 9 deputies responded to the 4000 block of Parker Road after a witness called 911 after confronting two strangers at the home. The witness saw a dark colored vehicle parked in the driveway and knew it didn’t belong there. He pulled into the driveway and confronted two men who tried to convince him they were doing a survey. When the witness said he was calling police the men got into the vehicle and fled. Police determined the suspects only entered the garage, gaining entry through an unlocked storm door. The arrival of the witness may have prevented the pair from entering the house, police believe.

The suspects are described as a 180-pound white male in his mid-40s and a 260-pound black male in his late 20s.

Police are investigating.

Sometime between 4 p.m. Jan. 8 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 10 someone stole jewelry and electronics from a home on the 2600 block of Tessmer in Lodi Township. Someone forcibly entered the home through a rear door. Police are investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office confidential tip line at 734-973-7711 or 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
