Saline Area Schools Superintendent Scot Graden is recommending Kevin Musson as new principal at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School.

Musson, Director of Special Education for Saline Area Schools, was one of three finalists for the job. Laura Washington, Assistant Principal at Saline Middle School, is now a candidate for the recently vacated position at Heritage Elementary School. Matt Ceo, an English teacher at Saline Middle School, accepted an assistant principal job with Chelsea Public Schools.

The Board of Education will consider the recommendation of Musson at Tuesday’s meeting.

“Following staff & community feedback sessions, along with central office interviews - I will be recommending Kevin Musson be named Pleasant Ridge Principal,” Graden wrote in an email to district staff.

Graden said Washington is being considered for principal post at Heritage Elementary School. Principal Michelle Sontag announced her retirement Thursday. Washington will meet with staff at the school Monday.

Graden wrote that Washington demonstrated strong leadership skills while the district interviewed candidates for the Pleasant Ridge principal’s post.
