23 Saline 8th Graders Honored for 4.0 GPA Over 3 Years of Middle School

 05/20/2016 - 00:56

Twenty-three Saline Middle School 8th grade students and one teacher were honored along with fellow students and educators from seven other local middle schools at the 2015-2016 Southeast Michigan Middle Level Administrators Association (SEMMLAA) 8th Grade Honors Night held Monday evening, May 9, at Chelsea High School.

Each of the principals representing Chelsea, Dexter, Lincoln, Manchester, Milan, Pinckney, Saline and Tecumseh recognized their students individually with Certificates of Academic Excellence and had an opportunity to speak to the family-filled audience about their pride in these students’ accomplishments.  In his opening keynote remarks, Tecumseh Principal Rick Hilderley encouraged these students to first figure out what they want to do and where they want to go, and then figure out who to take along as they go do it - and then translated that as: "Be a leader, not a follower."

Saline Middle School Principal Mr. David Raft and Assistant Principal Laura Washington proudly recognized the following honor students from the Saline Class of 2020 for achieving perfect 4.0 grade point averages over their 6th, 7th, and 8th grade years at Saline Middle School:
