Sean O'Keefe Throws Perfect Game as Saline Blanks Huron

Sean O'Keefe threw a perfect game against Huron Wednesday. Saline won 4-0.

Junior Sean O’Keefe pitched a perfect game as Saline blanked Huron, 4-0, May 11, to improve to  11-1 in the SEC Red.

O’Keefe, making his second start since returning from injury, pitched the full seven innings. He struck out nine River Rats.

Kellen Huang and Ryan Foley each had two hits and an RBI for Saline. O’Keefe also had two hits.

Saline scored one in the first. Michael Schuby was hit by a pitch. He took second when Jake Finkbeiner reached base on an error. Kellan Huang singled home Schuby for the game’s first run.

In the second Ryan Foley reached on a single. He scored on a single by Schuby. Saline led 2-0.

In the third Kellen Huang led off with a second. He stole second. Richard Hovde walked. Huang scored on a single by Ted Eppinga. Foley singled to score Hovde.

Meanwhile, O’Keefe continued to dominate on the mound. He struck out two in the fourth and fifth. In the seventh he faced the top of the order and got the first two hitters on ground outs. He struck out Taylor Erhardt to end the game and clinch the perfect game.

O’Keefe threw 77 pitches – 55 strikes and 22 balls.
