Saline High School senior Mike Monahan is one of seven Hornet baseball players who put pen to paper Wednesday, the first day of college signing season. Monahan, a catcher, will continue his studies and baseball playing days at Eastern Michigan University.
"He’s a left-handed hitting catcher with good size. He improved tremendously. He did a lot of bullpen work with Coach Welton and got better and better," Saline coach Scott Theisen said.

Why did you choose your college? I like the new coaching staff and it is close to home.
What did the coaches there tell you they like about you? They liked my size for a catcher, my arm strength, and overall projection.
How ready do you feel for college baseball? I feel that the coaches at Saline have prepared me to play at the college level.
What will you study in college? Business.
What goals do you have for your senior year? To win a state championship and continue to get better as a player.
Is there a coach along the way who really helped you with the game? Coach Josh Reeves has helped me develop as a catcher the past couple of years.
What’s your walk up song going to be this year? Not sure yet.
