City officials host the second of two townhall meetings at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Saline Area Senior Center.

Earlier this year city council voted to schedule the townhall meetings after passing the recent city budget, which includes a tax increase of .75 mills to 16.28 mills. The increase costs the owner of a $200,000 home about $75 a year.

A portion of the meeting will be dedicated to explaining the financial circumstances that led Saline City Council to its recent budget. Mayor Brian Marl and city council also want to hear from the public.

"I'm so much looking forward to these town hall meetings, and I hope my fellow Saline residents will attend. These gatherings will be a great opportunity for citizens to come and learn more about the city's budget, as well as offer their feedback on the process," Marl said.

The first of the townhalls was lightly attended.
