Linda Longberry was honored by Mayor Brian Marl at Monday's City Council meeting.

Saline City Council honored longtime city employee Linda Longberry at Monday's meeting.

Longberry retired in September after 20 years with the City of Saline.

Mayor Brian Marl said it was bittersweet to congratulate Longberry on her retirement from the city.

“We're excited for Linda and her family,” Marl said. “It is bittersweet because Linda is a tremendous public servant who contributed greatly to the success of the City of Saline, and therefore, she's going to be missed.”
Longberry began her service with the city at the Rec Center. She became office manager for the Saline Department of Public Works. Most recently, she worked as office manager for the Saline Police Department.

“I think it's a testament to her great skill and just how prized and value she was as an employee,” Marl said.

Marl wished Longberry well in her future endeavors and joked that since the city is short staffed, she'd be welcome to stay on and help out.
