Mayor Marl said he's reached out to Saint Joseph Mercy Health System officials and hopes they will address council with plans for the facility. Councilor Rhoads wants to know what can be done to preserve what's left of the 54-year-old community hospital. Meanwhile, other entities are interested may be interested in some form of health services at the facility, the Mayor said.
The city's Special Projects Commission is recommending city council approve MMI Engineering Solutions' request for a tax break, but deny JAC Products' request on its $9 million investment. Meanwhile, council is expected to pass higher water and sewer rates for city residents. Council will also go into executive session to discuss a legal opinion and property purchase.
Saline City Council may pass a resolution to deny a local attorney's Freedom of Information Act request for police procedures and policy manuals. The resolution is on the consent agenda when council meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday night at City Hall. Typically, city council passes consent agenda items without discussion.
