PRESCHOOL PUMPKIN HUNT

Tuesday, October 16, 10-11am

Preschoolers will go on a mini pumpkin hunt on Miller Field, behind the Rec Center. After they find their perfect pumpkin, they will be able to decorate it and take it home. Children will also enjoy a story told by one of the Saline District Library’s own storytellers. A snack will be served. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

BOO BASH

Friday, October 26, 5:30-8pm

Trick or treat trail, costumes, games, dancing, treats, balloon drop and more! Can you think of a better way to celebrate Halloween? Join us for the 21st Halloween event at the Rec Center. Pre-registration is required for all adults and children ages 3 and up as this event sells out. Children 2 and under are free but must register. The event will be held in the Rec Center Gym. Fee day of event is $12.

Businesses: Be a part of the Trick or Treat Trail. The cost to participate is $20 plus treats for 300 trick or treaters. Be one of the first 10 businesses to sign up and pay only $10!  Download the event flyer.

THE GREAT PUMPKIN ROLL

Saturday, November 3, 9am

Bring your old Jack-O-Lantern to Mill Pond Park for a little fall fun. You’ll race your pumpkin against others in this 9th annual competition. Winners will get a fun mystery prize and everyone will enjoy hot cider, donuts and some laughs! The event sponsor, Waste Management will have an antique truck on site for the kids to see. Make sure you bring your camera! No need to preregister. This event is FREE.

FALL INTO FITNESS OPEN HOUSE

Sunday, November 4, 12-6pm

Put that extra hour of sleep you’re going to get as daylight savings time ends to good use with an exciting Open House at the Saline Rec Center. Join us for some fall fun.

  • All Rec Center memberships will be discounted by 10%

MERMAID SPLASH BASH

Friday, November 9, 6-8pm

Have you ever wanted to swim with a live mermaid? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a mermaid yourself? Then this is the event for you! Come join Mermaid Luna as she swims and plays with you in our leisure pool. Try on a mermaid tail and go for a swim. Make a craft or join in the fun games & activities. Light snacks will be provided. Unique underwater photos of participants will be available to purchase from Treasure Images Photography. Children 5 and under must be accompanied by a parent in the water. It’s going to be fintastic!

Santa is inviting all good little boys and girls for a very special evening of holiday fun. Wear your favorite pajamas and get cozy as one of the Saline District Library's storytellers reads some of Santa favorite holiday stories. We will also sing songs, do some crafts and enjoy milk, cookies and hot chocolate. And don't forget to bring a wish list for your chance to visit with the "Jolly ol' Elf" himself. KID'S NIGHT OUT

Friday, December 14, 5-10 pm

Parents: Get your last minute shopping done or just spend some quality time with your spouse or friends in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season! Leave your kids at the Rec Center where they will have a blast with the staff making crafts, watching movies, playing games in the gym and swimming. Best of all, it’ll cost less than hiring a babysitter! A pizza dinner is included. Participants should wear athletic shoes and bring their bathing suits and a towel.
