All seven Hornets finished in the top 17 as Saline cruised to its fifth straight regional boys cross country championship Saturday at Lake Erie Metropark.
Saline finished with 42 points, 34 better than second place Monroe. Fellow SEC Red rival Bedford finished third with 79 points. All three teams will race in the state meet at Michigan International Speedway next Saturday.
Junior Evan Koerschner was Saline’s fastest runner, finishing fourth in 16:40.9. Sophomore Anthony DeKraker was right behind him, taking fifth in 16:41.2. Junior Connor Meehan was seventh in 16:55. Senior John Giles (12th, 17:03) and junior Aidan Carichner (14th, 17:06) completed the scoring for Saline. All five of those runners earned all region honors, as did senior Bryan Adamovicz (15th, 17:07). Senior Josiah Davis was 17th in 17:15.1.
The boys will race in the state meet at 3 p.m., Nov. 7, at the Michigan International Speedway.
