Diabetes PATH helps seniors 60 and over learn about tools and techniques that can help them manage their own Type 2 Diabetes. The focus is not on any one particular method, but rather on helping you find the techniques or tools that will work for you and that you can make a part of your daily life. Whether you're new to diabetes or have been living with diabetes for decades, you'll walk away with new information and resources. Classes are held in a small-group setting so people can share information and problem-solve together. Diabetes PATH is a six-week class. It will be held every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to Noon. Cost is $15, but you will receive a $15 Walgreens gift card if you complete all six classes, making the classes essentially free! Advance registration is required. Register by calling 800-852-7795.
Classes are provided by the Area Agency on Aging 1-B, a nonprofit that helps older adults, people with disabilities and family caregivers in six counties in southeast Michigan, including Washtenaw. Funding for the classes are provided by a grant from the Michigan Help Endowment Fund. To learn more, viist www.aaa1b.com.
