Harvest Time Festival

Want to start off the fall season in the best way? Come to Saline Area Historical Society’s Harvest Time Festival. The festival is taking place Sunday, Oct. 6 from noon to 5 p.m.at the Rentschler Farm Museum, located at 1265 E. Michigan Ave. in Saline. There is plenty of parking at the adjoining Sauk Trail Shopping Center. There is an admission price of $1 per adult, children are free.

Saline Area Historical Society is pleased to have Susan Nenadic present at our first education program of the fall season. After Susan’s retirement from Saline High School in 2004, she became involved with the Washtenaw County Historical Society. Soon after volunteering Susan began researching 19th century working women in Washtenaw County. Susan was so compelled by her research she began writing a book about it.

US-12 Heritage Trail Sale at the Rentschler Farm

The Rentschler Farm Museum will be taking part in the US-12 Heritage Trail Sale once again! The US-12 Heritage Trail Sale runs 212 miles between Wayne County and New Buffalo on the west side of the state.  The event, hosted by Saline Area Historical Society, is an excellent fundraiser for Saline’s local museums. The yard sale will have items ranging from books, to household items, linens, handcrafted items, and much more. The Rentschler Farm Museum Gift Shop will be open with items for sale, and there will be items from the farm’s salvage barn for sale as well.
