Hornets Fall in Double OT at Southgate Anderson

The Saline boys’ varsity basketball team fell in double overtime at Southgate Anderson, 65-63.

Saline (2-1) led 47-40 going into the fourth quarter. Southgate Anderson outscored Saline 11-4 in the fourth quarter.

The teams finished the first overtime tied at 60. Southgate Anderson edged Saline 5-3 in the second overtime. The Hornets were without big man Max Recknagel, who had fouled out.

Reece Dils led the Hornets with 22 points, 18 of which game on three-point shots. Caleb Luckett scored 15 points and Michael Hendrickson added 14 points. Max Recknagel scored nine points before fouling out.

Connor Phee scored 26 points to lead Southgate Anderson.
