The Saline gymnastics team earned another victory Thursday night at Saline High School, defeating Tecumseh 132.45 to 111.75.
Erika Myers and Kelsey Flanagan had strong outs for the Hornets.
Flanagan took first place in the in floor exercise (8.55) and balance beam (9.00). She was third in the uneven bars. Myers was second in the balance beam and uneven bars, and third in the vault and floor exercise. Ericka Tapia was first in the vault (8.95) and third in the balance beam. Katie Tapia was first in the uneven bars (8.15). Kelsey Grim was second in the vault.
Coach Mandy Brown said the team did well despite having several girls out with illness. Still, she thinks the girls could have been better.
“I like where we’re at. But we’re a little below where last year’s team was. We’re losing points falling off the balance beam and I think we can correct that,” Brown said.
