Broomball (O)(R)

10 am – 1 pm – TBA – Broomball is traditionally played on an ice rink, but due to the changing weather we are playing on a paved parking lot surface that will be whatever nature gives us for Saturday January 23rd, thus it could be pavement, ice, snow, or slush. This game, originating in Canada is a game that consists two teams. We will be playing 4 on 4 with a goaltender and three others per team. The object of the game is to score more goals than the opponent. Goals are scored by hitting the ball into the opponent’s goal using the broom. Tactics and plays are similar to those used in street hockey. Players hit a small ball around the rink with a stick called a “broom.” For Winterfest the brooms are provided and are actual corn brooms with the bristles cut short and covered with tape. INFO
