St. Joseph Mercy Saline will relocate its urgent care clinic from its Russell Street location to the Country Creek Plaza at State Street and Michigan Avenue.
The new St. Joseph Mercy Urgent Care Saline is projected to open at 7025 E. Michigan Ave. in mid-June. Outpatient services including lab draws and general diagnostics/X-rays also will relocate to the new urgent care location.
"We have been openly talking about the need to move our urgent care to a more convenient area in the Saline community for people to reach us more easily," said Robin Damschroder, chief operating officer, St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea and St. Joseph Mercy Livingston, who oversees the Saline facility. "We continue to listen to our patients to ensure we satisfy their healthcare needs and expectations in order to continue fulfilling our healing mission."
The urgent care clinic, which replaced the old emergency room last year, was located in what was left of Saline Hospital on Russell Street, tucked behind a residential neighborhood. The new location is on a main highway, close to Saline High School and several shopping centers, and closer to freeway access.
It will be housed in the former home of Synergy Animal Hospital, which moved to 250 E. Michigan Ave. in the city in November.
“We look forward to continuing to provide care for Saline and the surrounding communities in a new, convenient location," said Michael Mikhail, M.D., regional vice president at EPMG who serves as regional director for emergency medicine at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System.
The community pavilion will continue to be housed at the Russell Street location as a resource for education such as drug prevention, nutrition and exercise classes, as well as some physician offices. Evangelical Home Saline also will remain in the facility, offering 24-hour nursing services and support, including short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, memory and hospice care.
