An 18-year-old Saline man was arrested June 1 on suspicion of possession of marijuana and having open intoxicants in a vehicle.
Police stopped the man for going straight through the intersection in the right-turn lane on northbound Old Creek Road at Michigan Avenue. Police stopped the driver around 3:30 p.m. on Maple Road near Clark Street.
Police detected the smell of marijuana and arrested the man. They found a bag of what they suspect is marijuana in the man’s glove box. They also found a glass pipe. There was a nearly empty bottle of run behind the driver’s seat.
The man had not consumed any drugs or alcohol that day, he told police, but had left the items in his vehicle after a party the previous weekend.
The items were confiscated. His vehicle was impounded. The man was arrested and released. Charges are pending.
