Coming off a victory the night before at Bedford, the Saline JV hoops squad came out flat against Lincoln Tuesday night and lost 84-67, dropping their season record to 7-5.  The Hornets kept things close through the first half but twelve turnovers led directly to twelve points and helped Lincoln to a 41-36 lead at the half.

Six third quarter turnovers allowed the Railsplitters to pull away and open up a 20-point lead going into the fourth quarter.  “We didn’t play well.  We didn’t execute or make plays and give Lincoln credit, their defensive pressure got us rattled,” JV head coach Jason Pickett said.  “That is a part of the growth you get with a young team.  We’ll learn from this and continue to grow.”  Freshman forward Connor Terech played a strong game for the Hornets, netting 16 points and 11 rebounds, including six off the offensive glass.

The JV squad will host the Dexter Dreadnaughts on Friday.  Tip off is 5pm.
