The Saline Stingrays youth swim program won their first Southern Michigan Swim League Championship since 2005.
The Stingrays won the championship swimming at Saline High School, Dec. 1-2.
Coached by Megan Crosbie, Nick Munsell and Steven Hurbis, the Hornets finished with 2,559 points, ahead of second place Dexter (2,471.5) and third place Brighton (2,356.5).
There were 159 swimmers in the Stingrays program this fall.
Individual age group places were:
8 and under boys - 3rd
8 and under girls - 1st
8 and unders combined = 1st
9-10 boys - 1st
9-10 girls - 2nd
9-10's combined = 1st
11-12 boys - 1st
11-12 girls - 2nd
11-12's combined = 2nd
13-14 boys - 4th
13-14 girls - 4th
13-14 combined = 5th
15-18 boys - none swam
15-18 girls - 4th
15-18 combined = 5th
