A big Friday night in Saline leads into a busy weekend.

Here's your guide to the weekend.

White Out For Hornet Home Opener

7 p.m. Friday, Hornet Stadium, 1300 Campus Parkway

There hasn't been this much excitement about a football game at Hornet Stadium in a long time. The undefeated Hornets, led by new coach Joe Palka, host the always-tough Adrian Maples. With a victory, Saline will be off to a 3-0 record for the first time since 2007. It's a White Out. White t-shirts are being distributed at the gate.

It's also the first Friday night production by the always dazzling  Saline Marching Band. And, the SHS athletic department is honoring the three-peat state championship boys' Swim and Dive team. 

Above &Below Artists Reception

7 p.m. Friday, 212 Arts, 216 W. Michigan Ave.

Close to 20 artists participated in the Above & Beyond Art exhibit at 212 Arts Center until Oct. 25. They created quilts with the theme "Above & Below," and it's quite interesting all the different ways the artists went with the theme.

Saline Farmers Market

8 a.m. until noon, Saturday, in the lot of South Ann Arbor Street

Stop by Benny's for a coffee and donut and head on over the the weekly farmers market.

2 Bags of Books for $5

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Saline District Library

The Friends of the Library hold their monthly sale of used books in the Brecon Room at the Saline District Library. The first bag of used books is $5. The second bag is free.

The Civil War in Saline

2 - 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Stone Arch and Oakwood Cemetery

The Saline Area Historical Society and the Friends of Oakwood Cemetery present a program on what life was like for Saline soldiers during the Civil War and other early American conflicts. The program begins at the Stone Arch Arts & Events and then moves to Oakwood Cemetery.
