The 37th Annual Holiday Parade, which takes place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in downtown Saline, offers everything that people have come to expect and love from the annual seasonal event.
Plus this year, the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce is adding something new.
The chamber, which organizes the holiday parade, will present the "SACC Sanata Cup" to the company who design's the parade's best float.
"It's something we're doing to try to encourage local businesses to take their float building to the next level," said Art Trapp, executive director of the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce. "I look forward to seeing what people come with."
The parade begins at 5:30 p.m.
Parade-goers can avoid the detours and downtown parking headaches by parking in the Busch's plaza on East Michigan Avenue. A free shuttle will run between the plaza and downtown from 4:30 p.m until the parade begins and from the end of the parade until 8:30 p.m.
Following the parade, families are invited to Santa's Village at Stone Arch Arts and Events. Kids can visit Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves. The kids will receive a free "Santa sack" filled with goodies.
