Acoustic Routes Concerts
Hosting live music in Saline, Mich. since 2013

Acoustic Routes Concerts, which has been hosting live music upstairs at Mangiamo Italian Grill in downtown Saline since the spring of 2013, will kick off its fifth season in January with two concerts that will cover the spectrum from blues and bluegrass to jazz and rock & roll.

The first concert, 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21 (the 60th Acoustic Routes event held in Saline) will feature two stalwarts of the Michigan traditional music scene: Matt Watroba and Robert Jones. In one night, these two best friends from Detroit will take the audience on a six-decade journey showcasing the roots and branches of American music, encompassing blues, bluegrass, country blues, jazz, rock & roll and even a little hip hop.

Concert No. 61, on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m., will feature Bloodshot Records recording artist Luke Winslow-King of New Orleans.  His eclectic mix of original songs combine Mississippi delta blues, folk music, traditional jazz, and roots rock & roll. By blending contemporary ideas with styles from bygone eras, he creates a sound that is rustic and urbane, elegant and entirely his own. This along with his burgundy voice, dapper attire and versatile guitar playing have earned him a reputation as a musician who delivers soulfully energetic and dynamic performances.

This rare solo performance (with special guests to be announced), comes just days before Winslow-King embarks on a European tour that will take him to France, Belgium and The Netherlands.

Reservations are requested for all Acoustic Routes concerts: call 734-429-0060.  Mangiamo Italian Grill’s full bar and dinner menu is available.  The cover charge for each show is $15 at the door, with 100 percent going to the artists.
