Acoustic Routes Shares Ten Must-Hear Sets of Irish Tunes

 03/17/2017 - 10:26

Acoustic Routes Concerts of Saline has compiled a list of Irish trad music videos in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, with a special emphasis on musicians from County Clare in the west of Ireland, where the Irish language, folk music and dancing have thrived for generations thanks to talented players like Kitty Hayes (concertina), Eoin O’Neil (bouzouki), Quentin Cooper and Kevin Griffin (tenor banjo) and Mary Custy and Yvonne Casey (fiddle).

Also included are award-winning American musicians Duck Baker (guitar) and Liz Carroll (fiddle), as well as expatriates like Kevin Burke (fiddle), all of whom Acoustic Routes has hosted at venues like The Ark in Ann Arbor.

The next Acoustic Routes concert in Saline, featuring singer-songwriter Miriam Pico of Traverse City, is March 25 at 8 p.m. at Stony Lake Brewing, 447 E Michigan Ave.
