In less than three weeks, Saline Area Players will present "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" written by Barbara Robinson. The rehearsals have been underway for a few weeks now. This year's production adds some fun choreography. The story is about the annual Christmas pageant that takes place in a small church. This year, the regular pageant director is out with her foot in a cast, and the play is being directed by Mrs. Bradley who is new to the job. On the day during Sunday school when the cast is chosen, the Herdman kids (town bullies) show up at church because they heard there are free treats to be had. They get wind of the pageant and intimidate the other kids (and the pageant director) into getting the main parts of Mary, Joseph, etc. The whole church is in an uproar because they fear that the Herdman kids will wreck the pageant. But, Mrs. Bradley is determined to go ahead with it even though it causes her and her family a lot of added holiday stress.
Kara Cardella will direct this production - she directed SAP's very first production of the same show which is such a favorite that it is being performed for the 3rd time. In the past, SAP has sold out, so don't delay on reserving tickets which are at the great price of $5/person.
