The Saline Fiddlers started 25 years ago with a simple idea: bring student musicians together in a show band to preserve traditional fiddle music, Celtic, bluegrass and Western swing, get people clapping and dancing to songs that trace the arc of American history and remind people that big talent often comes from small towns.
Over the decades The Saline Fiddlers have played for students, seniors, veterans and communities all over Michigan. They have played The White House, they have toured nearly every state in the union and as far away as the UK and Germany and opened for Grand Ole Opry stars like Ricky Skaggs. But there may be no better place to hear them up close and personal in their hometown over a pint of Jerry Tubbs' handcrafted ales at Stony Lake Brewing, 447 E. Michigan Ave.
The cover is $10 at the door (adults). Students are $5 and kids under 12 are free (accompanied by a parent or guardian). Open seating.
