Calling all high school performers! It is that special time of year when students grades 9 through 12 have the opportunity to audition for the cast of Saline Varsity Blues, a show choir cast that performs two shows per season in Saline, travels to retreat mid-year, and goes on tour to workshop and perform each summer.  Auditions take place September 12th  and 13th at Liberty School Auditorium in Saline, 6pm-8pm.  Potential cast members are required to attend both nights of auditions, one for dance (casual dress) and one for vocals (bring prepared song if you have one).  High school students from all areas are welcome to audition, including Saline, Milan, Ann Arbor, Belleville, etc.

Last summer the high school cast performed at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL  and this year will perform on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. In years past they have toured/performed in Orlando at Walt Disney Worldon Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas as they cruised to Cozumel, Mexico, they have performed in New York City, Chicago, Boston, Branson and Nashville.  The Varsity Cast members are also mentors for younger cast members in the Junior Varsity and Kids Casts.

Terri Blovits is President of the VB Board of Directors.  She believes wholeheartedly that being a member of Varsity Blues is much more than being just a cast of performers.

“Being involved in Varsity Blues for eight eleven years now with my own cast member has made me realize that VB is so much more than a performing show choir.  It is a family, a place where life- long friendships are made.” she said.  “VB educates our performers in all aspects of putting on a production, from singing, acting and dancing, to choreography and staging.”
