Sketches from TV show seen in Saline

 11/01/2016 - 20:40

Yes, you heard it right!  The Saline Area Players are re-enacting some of the popular sketches from the original and popular TV variety show, The Carol Burnett Show.  Show up at Fifth Corner right here in Saline this weekend and the Players will take you back to an earlier era of television, to the fun and frivolity of the good old days.  A fond memory for many, The Carol Burnett Show, which ran from 1967 until 1978, was one of television’s most successful variety shows of all time.  Key to the show’s success were the wonderfully written comedy sketches featuring a whole host of characters, played by regulars or guest stars on the program. The sketches often parodied well-known movies (like Gone with the Wind) or TV shows.  You might catch a glimpse of Mama this weekend too, plus be treated to some original commercials.

The Best of Carol Burnett Sketches will be at performed at 8:00 pm on November 3, 4 & 5 and 3 PM on November 5 & 6, at Fifth Corner, 211 Willis Rd, Saline, MI, 48176.  There are 6 stairs to get into the building and no elevator. Doors will open 30 minutes before each performance for general admission seating and for sampling of local food and beverages.
