Michigan State Police troopers and Pittsfield Township Police are investigating shootings of vehicles Monday evening.
The Michigan State Police Brighton Post, Sylvan Detachment, was dispatched at about 6 p.m. to a report of two vehicles being shot while the vehicles were being driven on the road. Pittsfield Township Police were dispatched after a shooting on Michigan Avenue around 6:15 p.m.
The shootings occurred on Austin Road between Schneider and Ernst roads in Bridgewater Township. Both shootings occurred at approximately 6 p.m. according to a Michigan State Police news released issued Tuesday afternoon. There were no injuries in the Bridgewater Township shooting.
The first shooting occurred while the vehicle, a 2005 Chevy Silverado pickup, was being driven by a male driver and lone occupant, west on Austin Road, east of Ernst Road. The driver is from Manchester.
The second shooting occurred while the vehicle, a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix, was being driven, by a female driver and lone occupant, west on Austin Road, west of Schneider Road. The driver is from Adrian.
Pittfield Police Department officials say a 72-year-old Pittsfield Township woman was westbound on Michigan Avenue east of Industrial Drive at about 6:15 p.m. when a bullet struck his driver's side door. She was not hurt.
Troopers are working with Pittsfield Township Police to determine whether a Monday shooting in Pittsfield Township is related.
