Distance Runners Help Keep Saline Unbeaten in SEC

Saline survived a push from Monroe to remaining unbeaten in SEC track and field action.

Propelled by distance runners, throwers and overall depth, Saline defeated Monroe 72-58.

Anthony Lamus, Grant Praschan and Brian Diefenbach went 1-2-3 in the 1600.

Kevin Hall won the 3200. Sean Dew took third.

Ryan Gauche, Ryan Wilke and Brian Blankenship went 1-2-3 in the 800.

Matt Elms and Andrew Kitto went 1-2 in the 400.

Joey Leptich was first in the 300 hurdles and second in the 100 hurdles.

John Smutny won the shot put and discuss.
