Hazel Eleanor Bertke Seeger, of Saline, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the age of 91 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born on January 8, 1922 in Manchester, the daughter of Oscar A. and Lavina (Klose) Bertke.

On December 7, 1945 in Manchester, she married Matthew (Bud) Seeger and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1987. Hazel worked at Ford Motor Company plant in Manchester for many years.

Survivors include children Matthew (Lynne) Seeger, Gerald (Lois) Seeger and Carol Nortley, grandchildren Kevin (Melissa) Seeger, Brian (Kim) Couch, Scott (Karen) Couch, and Megan Nortley and step-grandchildren, Kyle and Lindsey Green. Other survivors include great-grandchildren Hunter and Haleigh Seeger, Steven and Christopher Couch, Austin and Joshua Couch, sister Melva Harber, Godchild Janice Camp, and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Lavina, her husband Matthew, her sisters Dorothy Klinschmid, Ila Dennis, and Ruth Finkbeiner, and her grandsons William Nortley and Jeffery Seeger.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 22 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saline, with the Rev. William F. Natsis, officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church. Envelopes will be available at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline, where friends may begin calling on Thursday, March 21 between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday, March 22 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. To sign Hazel’s guestbook, to leave a memory, or for more information or directions please visit www.rbfhsaline.com.
