Summerfest Countdown: Probility 5K Offers $2,000 in Cash Prizes

Salinians love to run and Saline Summerfest provides another opportunity on Aug. 10.

The Probility Physical Therapy 5K run/walk takes place at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, starting at Saline City Hall, 100 N. Main St.

The annual event offers $2,000 in cash prizes, including $500 to the top male and females, $250 to the top males and females aged 60 and up, and $50 for the males and females placing 2nd through 6th. There are also prizes for the top three males and females in each age group.

Running champion Doug Kurtis is running in the Probility 5K and will sign autographs after the race. Kurtis has run in more than 202 marathons and he won 40. He holds the world record for the most sub-2:20 marathons.

There are several ways to register for the event. Fill out the form below and mail the check ($30) Alison Krueger at Probility Physical Therapy, 2058 S. State St., Ann Arbor, MI. Participants can also register online by clicking here.  Packets will be available at the Probility 5K Expo from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the 984 E. Michigan Ave., Saline, where Probility is holding a barbecue.

On race day, participants can register at Saline City Hall for $35 starting at 7:30 a.m.
