Woodland Meadows students sing for veterans on the Betsy Marl Stage during a Veterans Day Concert Friday.

Woodland Meadows second grade students performed for veterans during the annual Veterans Day concert at the school Friday morning.

Students sung several patriotic and military songs for veterans who were invited to the concert. They sang the official song for each branch of the military, America the Beautiful, This Land is Your Land and The Star Spangled Banner.

In between songs they recited information about Veterans Day and spoke of the sacrifices made by veterans.

The finished the concert by singing Wave Your Flag – and they revealed small flags which they waved while singing.

Following the concerts, veterans joined the students in their classroom to talk about their service.

Thank you for remembering us veterans, we do appreciate it. I had the honor of serving with US troops occasionally and they were great people.

Yours Sincerely
