The final Winter Beach Blast to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be held at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds this Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m.
This is the 13th event organized by Bill and Wendy Beardsley and Dan and Renee Dooley.
"We started this event 14 years ago as a way to raise awareness and funding for Cystic Fibrosis," noted Wendy Beardsley.
The event was inspired by two of the children of the Dooleys being diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. The event has become an annual happening, with often times as many as 400 people in attendance. Over the years the event has raised almost one-half million dollars. The highlights of the evening features a comedian and band, and silent auction and raffle items.
