 03/08/2019 - 17:09

Saline Middle School eighth grade student Elly LeCursi won the Miss Shoreline Outstanding Scholarship Pageant.

LeCursi, daughter of Nick and Jody LeCursi, will now compete in the Miss Michigan Outstanding Teen Pageant in June.

LeCursi, a member of the Saline Twirlettes, did a baton twirling routine routine to Another Day of Sun from LaLa Land.

Her platform is Care for Rare: Raising Awareness for Rare Diseases. LeCursi chose this platform because she lives with a rare disease, Primary Cillary Dyskinesia.

The contestants in the pageant were judged on  interviews, talent, fitness and their response to an on-stage question.

LeCursi will compete in the state pageant June 11-12 in Muskegon. Saline graduate Amanda Coy will be competing in the Miss Michigan Pageant in Muskegon.
