Alana L. Meyers, 65, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 30, 2018 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She is survived by her son John (Dana) McClellan of Saline, Michigan, daughter Andrea McClellan (fiancé Gary Breuhan) of St. Clair, Michigan, daughter Kristin Meyers of Carmel, Indiana, daughter Kyri (Chris) Kemp of Saline, MI, four grandchildren (Mara & Sloane McClellan and Grayson & Graham Kemp), and sister Laureen Summerville of Portage, Michigan. Alana was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence J. & Evelyn Summerville and brother Lawrence A. Summerville. Born in Marine City, Michigan on April 3, 1953, Alana graduated Western Michigan University and had a fulfilling career with the State of Michigan until her retirement in December 2015. Alana loved her co-workers and felt a great satisfaction in helping others every day at work. Long known for her positive outlook on life and her sense of humor, Alana loved her family – always putting her children first. She was also lovingly known as the “neighborhood Mom” and always welcomed others with open arms into her life & into her family. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life memorial service will take place on September 7th at 11:30a at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Saline, Michigan. Visitation will take place before the service from 10-11:30a with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. **The family invites all to come as they are and wear colors to represent the beauty and joy Alana’s life brought to so many.** In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, the Dream Foundation, or the ChadTough Foundation.
