On April 18, 1966, Mayor George Johnson of Saline extended an invitation to the Town of Brecon, Wales to become a sister city in the People-to-People Program established by President Eisenhower in 1956. On July 4, 1966, the Saline-Brecon twinning became official. There has been many exchange visits over the 51 years.
A group of Saline citizens formed the Saline Brecon Friendship Guild for hosting visitors from Brecon This group is sponsoring the “Brecon Night Dinner” on Friday, April 20th at Saline’s American Legion.
