There is an ongoing discussion/debate in the media and in professional circles about ADHD. Some say that ADHD is a well-defined neurodevelopmental disorder that is increasingly understood and treatable with a combination of medications and counseling. Others say that ADHD is so often misdiagnosed and over-diagnosed that it isn’t clear what ADHD is and isn’t, and perhaps isn’t even a valid diagnosis! Drug companies and drug-seeking individuals complicate the picture even more.
Brian Pearson and Bridget Young will conduct a mock debate/discussion that presents both sides of this argument. The session will be lively and full of new information direct from current research and publications. Everyone attending will leave with an up-to-date understanding of the current state of the debate! Decide for yourself which side is right – or is it possible that they both have a piece of the truth? There will be plenty of time for questions and comments from the audience as well.
This presentation is FREE and open to the public, and has been approved for “On Your Own” PD Credit for Saline Area Schools staff.
