Pittsfield Charter Township will host its annual Passport 2 Pittsfield Open House on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. All are welcome to visit the following Township facilities and parks that will be open to the public and hosting activities: Township Hall (6201 W. Michigan Ave.), Police Station and Fire Station #1 (6227 W. Michigan Ave.), Utilities Field Office (4467 Concourse Drive), and Lillie Park South (4365 Platt Road). This free event gives area residents an inside look into the township’s day to day operations, as each department will host family-friendly activities to show a sample of life in public service.
“Conceived as a way to showcase ongoing projects, this annual event has transformed into a vibrant family-friendly space where folks of all age groups have hands-on activities to engage with; ranging from Public Safety and Utilities vehicle and equipment shows, Rec City activities and crafts at Lillie Park South, to doing a mock planning and building process using recycled materials. We hope you stop by and enjoy our 11th P2P Open House,” notes Supervisor Mandy Grewal.
AAATA TheRide will provide free Park and Ride services for visitors to park and visit all facilities. Visitors will receive a P2P passport that can be stamped as they participate in each activity.
Activities will include:
Build a Box City & explore the Community Map as you learn about the planning process
Let your voices be heard by casting your vote on a P2P Kids Vote Ballot
Learn about the role bees play in the environment at the farmers market preview
Climb in the police cars and firetrucks, and get safety resources and tips at Public Safety
Vehicle shows and live sewer camera demonstrations at the Utilities Field Office
Raffles, giveaways, and contests, supported by our local business community sponsors
