Behavior is a powerful form of communication and is one of the primary ways for people with dementia to communicate their needs and feelings as the ability to use language is lost. However, some behaviors, like wandering, aggression and others, can present real challenges for caregivers to manage. Join us to learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
In partnership with the Michigan Great Lakes Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, and with financial support from EHM Senior Solutions, this free class is offered as a community service by Saline’s Holy Faith Church, and is part of Holy Faith’s 11 week dementia awareness program, In This Together, featuring talks on dementia-related topics every Wednesday evening at 7 through July 17. For a full schedule and further information go to www.holy-faith-church-org. Holy Faith’s Social Hall has plenty of parking, no steps, wide doors, plenty of seating, and cookies. All are welcome.
