Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Finkel has covered the wars of the past decade, delving into the psychology of those wars and the soldiers fighting them.  In his first book, The Good Soldiers, Finkel embedded with the men of the 2-16 Infantry Battalion in Baghdad during the infamous “surge”, a grueling fifteen-month tour that altered their lives forever. In Thank You for Your Service, Finkel once again embedded with some of the men of the 2-16 - after their deployments ended and they returned home to recover, heal, and rejoin civilian life. Thank You for Your Service is a fascinating look at what life after war is like for the soldiers, their families, and friends, and for the professionals who are doing everything they can to undo the damage of war.

All are invited for friendly, informal book discussions and refreshments on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 pm.  Extra books are available in advance at the adult reference desk.
