I started noticing what appears to be asphalt or whatever it it is that the road commissions use to fill in the cracks on our roadways in abundance on yards up and down South Ann Arbor Street since December.
When I pick up a piece/chunk, it is thick and flexible. In the 20+ years I have lived on this street, I have never noticed such an accumulation of this material before. I might hazard a guess that perhaps the most recent application of this material on our roadways was laid dwn perhaps too late in the season (too cold), or this last batch just didn't have the adhesion that past applications might have had in the past. I mentioned that I first started seeing this in December, and this was before we had much in the way of street plowing on the road.
I suggest that homeowners will want to rake this up before their mower blades get mired in this stuff.
Are other Saline residents seeing this outside of South Ann Arbor Street?
