Christmas Tree Lighting, End of Construction Celebration Tuesday Night

 11/28/2016 - 23:37

The City of Saline, Saline Area Chamber of Commerce and Saline Main Street are hosting an End of Construction Celebration on Tuesday night in downtown Saline. The activities will kick-off with the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce Downtown Tree Lighting Ceremony at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29 in front of the KeyBank corner of Michigan Avenue and Ann Arbor Street.  In addition to the traditional flipping of the switch for the giant Christmas tree, this year’s event will also include a special ribbon-cutting for Michigan Avenue by Mayor Marl, the final Pave It Forward drawing for the Grand Prize of $1,000, and the drawing for the Ride with Santa coloring contest.  Light refreshments and entertainment will round out the family-fun evening.

Remember that the “Pave it Forward” raffle will conclude on November 29th and tickets must be turned in by 12:00 p.m. that day! We would like to thank everyone who patronized the downtown business throughout the construction project and for participating in the “Pave it Forward” raffle. The final raffle drawing will include EVERY raffle tickets collected over the entire year! Keep collecting your receipts and make sure to get as many tickets in the raffle for the $1,000 grand prize.

There are many reasons to ‘shop local,’ but the following statistic really proves it:

·       For every $1.00 spent at a locally owned business, $0.73 remains in the local economy.

·       For every $1.00 spent at a non-locally owned business, $0.43 remains local.

·       For every $1.00 spent online, $0.0 remains local.

The Pave It Forward campaign works like this: shoppers collect their receipts from participating businesses and redeem them for raffle tickets at one of three redemption centers –Hartman Insurance Company,  Saline Main Street, and the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce. For every $10 spent, shoppers will be given one ticket that will be entered into the drawing.

Participating Saline businesses Include:  Brecon Grille, Carrigan Café, Cobblestone Rose, Dan’s Downtown Tavern, mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack, Mangiamo Italian Grill, Maureen’s Designs, New Era Chiropractic, Perry’s Tuxedo, Pineapple House, Resale Boutique, Saline Automotive, Saline Optometry, Salt Springs Brewery, Workout1, City Limits Diner and Smoke BBQ.
