Saline Main Street’s Salty Sounds of Summer music series is at the halfway mark and this week Detroit indie folk band, Frontier Ruckus, Detroit will be center stage.
These guys are best known for their folk rock influence featuring bluegrass, alt-country and jangle pop style music.
In 2010, the band went on an extensive tour around the country and Europe.
Frontier Ruckus was given 9 out of 10 stars by PopMatters, who described their style as "a musical map to the psyches of its performers."
Current members of Frontier Ruckus are Matthew Milia, David Jones and Zachary Nichols. The band centers on lyrical songs written by Milia. Milia leads the trio on guitar and vocals, with Jones on banjo and Nichols blowing trumpet – and rounded out by the eclectic sounds of musical saw and melodica.
