Last night, workers dug a big hole in front of the Mason’s building which houses Perry’s Tuxedos and Benny’s Bakery. It was a night of thunder storms and heavy rain. Why the big hole?

“Some guy lost a quarter,” said a DTE worker early Monday morning after about 12 hours on the job.

In fact, there was a gas leak and a DTE crew was dispatched to find and repair it. The worker said that during the renovation of Michigan Avenue, a box covering a valve was inadvertently removed and this caused the leak.

The leak was found, but the disruption may last a few days.
