Join us for an interactive community listening session to share thoughts and ideas on the design and installation of a pocket park at Merchant Square.
Saline Main Street is proud to partner with Mayor Brian Marl, the City of Saline and Praxis Properties to redesign the area behind Dan’s Downtown Diner and the Cheese Shop of Saline into a public space. The proposed parklet will be ideal for creative uses such as light music, midday lunching and evening arts entertainment. The partnership is looking for people to engage in the project, starting with a listening session to gather ideas on use and design. From acoustic guitar buskers, jazz combos and honk, to Shakespeare and poetry slams, life-size jenga and chess – this space is just big enough to accommodate small lively gatherings as well as relaxing midday bistro seating to enjoy a sandwich with a friend.
Whatever you fancy, the partners want to hear from you.
We hope you will come out and lend your thoughts on how to shape this small but vital space downtown. Join the conversation on Thursday, November 8th | 6 to 7:30 PM at Carrigan Café, 101 S Ann Arbor Street — and we’ll see you there!
