Two more residents have pulled petitions to run for Saline City Council.
Julie Welch and Christen Mitchell pulled nominating petitions, Clerk Terri Royal said Friday afternoon. They join incumbents Dean Girbach and Janet Dillon and newcomer Mike Gudith as five potential candidates for three seats on city council.
As of Friday, Dillon and Gudith submitted their petitions to the clerk.
Mitchell, who works for Maureen’s Designs, serves on the city’s Arts and Culture Committee. Her husband, Michael McVey is running for the Saline Board of Education.
Welch, a Saline native, works as a legal assistant according to her Linkedin page.
As of Friday, Mayor Brian Marl was the only candidate to pull a petition to run for mayor.
Candidates seeking office must return nomination petitions to city hall by 4 p.m. July 21.
